Proper Stepping with Golf

When you golf there are many factors which help the way you hit the ball. Most people primarily focus on their grip and swing of the club and not the way they are standing. Stance can make a big difference in the way the ball is hit. You actually take steps when you golf. There are three things you want to think about with your steps that include the position of the ball, distance, and alignment.

Accomplishing the proper ball position for the club and the situation is important when you are golfing. This is all done with your feet. This may depend on the type of club you are using to hit the ball too. For example, if you are hitting with an iron or a wood and the golf ball is on a flat lie, your feet should be an equal distance apart from one another as you step to widen them. The club must remain centered at your body when you are done with your step. The position of the ball must remain in line with your forward instep and the instep on the left will be smaller and to the right. A widening step is always wider. Proper footing ensures you make proper contact because the ball will be in the right position to hit it. Golfing can relieve stresses you might have such as problems with citizenship when you have the right ball position with your stance.

Distance is another factor. The distance considered is from the ball and the club. When you step your feet it is important to be sure your feet are adjusted at a proper distance from the club and the ball. This way you will maintain the appropriate posture. Your hands should hang directly below your shoulders as you bow forward from your hips. Every club you use should consistently hang the same distance from the end of the grip with your body. This is how you will measure the club you are using.

The line through your toes need to run parallel to the target line while you are aiming your clubface to the target. This should be a parallel left similar to railroad tracks running side by side. Your feet can be a determining factor with the setup routing of how you hit the golf ball. You should take a minimum of four steps in a step routine of hitting the ball. This may depend on the distance you are trying to hit the ball also. Your step can be distracted if someone is wearing perfume and cologne on the course that smells bad.

If you watch professional gofers swing a golf club you will see how they are when they step through the swing. The steps you take in golf is as important as the MMA equipment used in karate. Be sure your stance is parallel and the way you step through your swing is done properly. You will find that it is easier than it seems and it helps you achieve an excellent swing and contact with the golf ball.
